Documentation
Info
This menu presents documents —such as inventories, auctions, testaments and others— related to music books; they provide very useful information about extant and lost music books of private or institutional property from the late-15th century onwards. The table in this menu lists the documents in chronological order (first column), using as "Document ID" its date by quarter of a century —16/1, 16/2, 16/3, 16/4— adding a more approximate date, if known, in parenthesis (year-month-day). For example: 16/3 (1562-01-02) https://www.hispanicpolyphony.eu/node/16337; documents with same date are distinguished by adding a lowercase letter a, b, c, etc. Clicking a "Document ID" takes you to its description, and in many cases to the list of items it contains; descriptions of items in many inventories are still in the process of being introduced in the database. The other columns in the table help to visualize at a glance the "Type" of document, "Number of items" in the document, the kind of owner of books "Institution", "Non-musician" or "Musician", and the "Location". Diverse search options facilitate selecting by "Type of document", "Content of document" and "Type of owner". For a particularly large and detailed inventory of polyphonic books at Tarazona cathedral 16/4 (1591), see the following link: https://hispanicpolyphony.eu/node/16460.
