Biography: 

Domenico Scarlatti was son of the composer Alessandro Scarlatti, and he was active as organist and composer of the Royal Chapel of Naples. He also worked in Florence, Venice, Rome and Lisbon, before his Spanish period in Sevilla (1729-1733) and Madrid (1733-1757) as composer and harpsichord teacher of the princess (later queen) María Bárbara de Braganza, the wife of the Spanish king Fernando VI.
