Physical description:

Large volume of 173 folios of approximately 55,5 x 38,5 (in fol. 31). Foliation starts on the first blank recto; modern foliation added in pencil in upper right corner. First five folios are of paper, fols. 6 to 18 are of parchment, and the manuscript continues with paper until the end; gatherings are usually ternions. The paper watermark is the same throughout (letter "P"). Covers are similar to E-MO 769; front cover is almost separated from the rest of the volume. A small paper label glued to the front cover is partly readable: "I"? "L"? Pastedown, inner front cover, upper left corner reads in pencil: "MS. 766". Towards the middle of the page, in black ink "nº 60" and in the middle of the page "Nº lx"; this number corresponds to that of the inventory of books compiled after the death of Philip II.

Two small, handwritten sheets of paper inside read:
1) "MONTSERRAT / ms. 766, / fols. 1r-173v"
2) "MONTSERRAT / Ms. 766 / fols. 1v-5r. Kyrie Paschale / quinque vocum. / cnfr. ROBINS, J.: Pierre / de la Rue, Brusell 1954 / p. 163 / cnfr. Ms. Jena, Chorbuch 4 / Bl. 5'-7 / fol. 35v-56r. Missa de Sancta / Cruce, Petrus de La Rue"
