Coinciding with the hiring of Gil de Ávila (1) as chapelmaster at the Santa Capilla de San Andrés in Jaén in 1595, a mozo de coro with the same name, Gil de Ávila (2), received a payment of 1.938 maravedís. Perhaps they were relatives.
