Physical description:

Although the E-PAMc 7 has 22 folios, modern foliation in pencil runs from 1 to 20; two folios have not been numbered, corresponding to fol. [8bis] and fol. [13bis]. This written foliation, although not correlative, has been followed in the present database. Sagaseta's catalogue (2015), in turn, assignes correlative foliation, even for pieces 05, 06 ,07 and 08 in the manuscript, whose beginning foliation (according to Sagaseta) does not correspond with the written number of folio.

The book has part of its metal closures and the binding is very deteriorated. The borders of folios are damaged, in some cases with missing areas of paper and music notation; some folios have been patched up or sewed.

Colour of covers:
dark brown

Diverse annotations, drawings and scribbles by the "infantes" (choirboys) from the 18th and 19th centuries can be read on the inside pastedown of both covers and on several folios of this manuscript.

- "Del año 1831 1º Saturnino".
- "Los / ynfantes / del año 1831 / 1º Saturnino / Suviza 2º Joaquin".

On left margin of fol. 1r: "1773".

On the inside back cover pastedown:
- "Los ynfantes del / año 1810 47 son los sig[u]ientes / 1 Luis Ybero / 2 Tomás Gomez / 3 Silbestre Gomez / 4 Cesario Perez / 5 Joquin Maia [Joaquín Maya]".

Comments:

This manuscript was found by Aurelio Sagaseta Aríztegui, chapelmaster of Pamplona Cathedral, after the publication of Ros-Fábregas's catalogue of polyphonic books of that institution (2006). Sagaseta attributes the pieces to Sebastián Aguilera de Heredia, but he does not indicate that they appear as anonymous in this manuscript .
